The launch of the Poco X5 and X5 Pro now seems imminent, with both smartphones having already been spotted at a retailer in Europe. We therefore know all their technical characteristics.
A week after a user posted Poco X5 Pro images and details, the next affordable smartphone from Xiaomi has appeared accompanied by a new Poco X5 at a Bulgarian retailer. The listing does not reveal exactly when the devices will arrive, but we already know everything about their technical sheet.
We don’t learn much about the Pro model, since we knew it would be powered by un SoC Snapdragon 778G from Qualcomm. We will find a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED displaya 5000mAh battery compatible with 67 W wired fast charging, a 108 MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2 main photo sensor, an 8 MP ultra wide-angle sensor and a 2 MP macro sensor. The device is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, measures 162.1×76×7.9mm and will weigh 181 grams.
The Poco X5 is much less capable
As expected, Poco has made the classic X5 a slower smartphone than the Pro version. Like the previous generation, the Poco X4 Pro 5G, the Poco X5 will use a Snapdragon 695 chip from Qualcomm. However, it will still bet on a 6.67-inch FHD + 120 Hz AMOLED screen.
On the autonomy side, the device will be entitled to a 5000mAh batterybut wired fast charging will be limited to just 33W. That’s still more than the next Galaxy S23 Ultra at 1400 euros, which will only be entitled to 25 W.
The Poco X5 is listed with 6/128GB and 8/256GB configurations (expandable with a microSD). There is no information on prices, but we know that three colors will be offered: Green, Blue and Black. It remains to be seen when the two devices will be launched. In India, the smartphones seem scheduled for the beginning of February, and it should therefore be the same in Europe. The end of February will be reserved for other smartphones anyway, the high-end Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro. Both will be presented at the MWC 2023 international fair in Barcelona.
