A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed in Israel on Saturday, the Israeli army said, but did not report any casualties.

The Israeli army announced that a rocket had been fired from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territories. No casualties were reported.

After sirens sounded in Kibbutz Nahal Oz, near the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army said in a statement that “a rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory. She fell in an open area.”

Two witnesses in Gaza told AFP that they had seen a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip, a micro-territory of 2.3 million inhabitants under Israeli blockade since the Islamist movement Hamas took power there in 2007.

No Palestinian faction has claimed immediate responsibility for the shooting. The army did not report any casualties.
