POLITICS – The morning was eventful in front of the Salle Pleyel in Paris this Friday, May 26, where the general assembly of TotalEnergies. At dawn, dozens of environmental activists tried to enter the street passing in front of the room, in the beautiful districts of Paris.
A dozen of them, seated in front of the entrance, were dislodged by the police who ended up throwing tear gas in the middle of the group. The demonstrators nevertheless remained nearby, around a hundred on each side of the stretch of street, blocked by police and gendarmerie trucks.
Among them was in the morning Manon Aubrywho had a very heated exchange with one of the shareholders who was trying, somehow, to join the contested GA. “What do you think of the duty of vigilance of multinationals? »asks the MEP LFI. “You are parasites”the shareholder answers him directly.
“Pests? I am elected, I am a Member of the European Parliament”she retorts, before he continues vehemently: “You are a parasite, MEPs, it’s useless! You do nothing! You are useless! »
“In that case, stop lobbying! »replies Manon Aubry ironically before their stormy exchange is covered by the hubbub of the demonstrators, as you can see below:

A little later, it will have a tense exchange with another shareholder of TotalEnergies. “But Madam, who are you? »asks the latter with virulence. “I am a Member of the European Parliament, Sir”calmly replies Manon Aubry. ” So what ? You get paid for doing nothing! »he retorts, while the MEP repeats to him that she is “chosen” and that she has “a mandate”.
“But you MEPs are crap! »the shareholder then hits him, before the elected representative asks him: “Why is Total lobbying then? » The exchange then becomes inaudible, as you can see in the excerpt below:
