Amfar 2023: Léna Mahfouf dazzles with this iconic dress by Jennifer Lopez
CANNES FESTIVAL – The 76th edition of the Cannes film festival is at its climax with the famous AmfAR gala this Thursday, May 25. Like every year, the prestigious Cap-Eden-Roc hotel, which is not far from Cannes, hosts this charity event for the American Foundation for AIDS Research.
For the occasion, an audience of stars made the trip: Heidi Klum, Eva Longoria, James Marsden, singer Bebe Rexha, model Winnie Harlow, singer Halsey and even Queen Latifah. But one of these celebrities, a Frenchwoman, particularly stood out with her iconic dress: Léna Mahfouf, aka influencer Léna Situation.

The latter is draped in a Versace dress with the motif ” jungle » and not just any old one: it is a variant of the dress worn by Jennifer Lopez at the Versace show at Milan Fashion Week in September 2019. But above all it is a dress that had already become cult in 2000 thanks to the singer.
A dress to create… Google Images
This famous low-cut and transparent dress by Jennifer Lopez became cult during the Grammy Awards in 2000 by its cut and its prints, but also because, faced with the madness it generated, the creator of Google then had the idea of … create Google images.
Indeed, in 2000, Google only offered links and articles without images or almost. Faced with numerous requests from Internet users at the time to see the famous photo, it was decided to create a search engine for images, recalls Eric Schmidt, the creator of Google in an interview spotted by The Independent.

“People wanted more than text. It started showing up after the 2000 Grammy Awards, where Jennifer Lopez wore a green dress that caught the world’s attention. At the time, it was the most popular search query we had ever seen. But we had no sure way to get exactly what users wanted: JLo wore that exact dress. Google Images was born ».
A cultural wink from Léna Mahfouf and also a way of closing the beak to her detractors who allowed themselves to denigrate his physique the last days.
