Hervé Chevreau, mayor of Epinay-sur-Seine, refused to celebrate a wedding whose convoy degenerated, this Saturday, January 28. Two individuals, unknown to the police, were arrested.
A day of celebration that turns into a disaster. In the middle of the afternoon, this Saturday, January 28, a wedding normally planned in Epinay-sur-Seine (Seine-Saint-Denis) was canceled by the mayor following the overflows caused upstream by the procession.
This Saturday morning, a wedding procession created “multiple disorders” in the streets of Epinay sur Seine (Seine-Saint-Denis), on the sidelines of the event, according to the municipality. The police have thus identified mortar fire, multiple violations of the Highway Code and an urban rodeo near the place of the party.
Motorist assaulted on the sidelines of the wedding
This Saturday, around 12:40 p.m., a motorist was the victim of an attack by several members of the procession. He would have liked to take a street blocked by a motorcade car, before accidentally releasing his brake and hitting the latter.
According to a source close to the file relayed by CNEWS, the driver of the damaged car would then have climbed on that of the motorist at the origin of the incident, before jumping on his windshield then breaking his two mirrors. The latter would then have left his vehicle before being violently attacked by members of the procession in front of his five-year-old daughter sitting in the car.
Wounded in the head and abdomen, the man targeted was transported to the Delafontaine hospital in Saint-Denis. According to our information, he refused to have recourse to the judicial medical units allowing the damage in ITT to be assessed. On the other hand, he filed a complaint after his hospitalization and he was able to return to work on Monday.
Arrested after the fact, the two alleged perpetrators, aged in their twenties, were not known to the police before their arrest for this case.
Avoid the spread of urban rodeos
The mayor of the town, Hervé Chevreau, held the future spouses responsible for the behavior of their guests, especially since a “charter of good conductis set up in the city which reminds us that the procession must obviously respect the Traffic Laws.
According to our information, Hervé Chevreau has decided not to celebrate the union, for fear that the urban rodeo observed in his town will spread to neighboring towns. Indeed, the bride and groom planned to party in a neighboring town at the end of the wedding to be celebrated in Épinay-sur-Seine.
