After the success of the first demonstration against the pension reform on January 19, its second part is scheduled for Tuesday January 31 and will take place on the left bank in Paris.

The course of this new day of mobilization against pension reform has been unveiled. This Tuesday, January 31, the French are invited by the eight main unions to take to the streets to protest against the government’s bill, which notably provides for a postponement of thelegal retirement age from 62 to 64 years old.

In Paris, the course of this new day of demonstration will leave the right bank for the left. At 2 p.m., the demonstrators meet at Place d’Italie, in the 13th arrondissement of the capital.

According to the police headquarters, which unveiled the route on Sunday, the procession must thus take the direction of Place Vauban in the 7th arrondissement, five kilometers further, where the arrival is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Severely disrupted road traffic

In detail, the procession will take Place d’Italie, Avenue des Gobelins, Boulevard de Port-Royal, Boulevard de Montparnasse and finally Boulevard des Invalides to arrive at Place Vauban.

The prefecture already warns that road traffic will be “severely disrupted” in all the surrounding districts. Because, “parked private vehicles will be subject to movement measures”, and this throughout the course.

However, “traffic will be restored gradually, depending on the appearance of the place”, explained the prefecture in its press release.

And note that people who have to go to a hospital located within the perimeter of the event are authorized to “use protected corridors”

This will be the second day of mobilization against the government’s plan after that of January 19, which saw 1.1 million people take to the streets, according to the Ministry of the Interior.
