Two press releases from the Ministry of Defense dated January 24, 2023 specify the options, number of candidates and procedures for participating in the competitions.
In total, the State is preparing to recruit 9,400 young Cameroonians of both sexes into the defense forces. the press release No. 00376/DV/MINDEF/ 02412 of January 24, 2023 informs young Cameroonians that a competition for the recruitment of 700 student non-commissioned officers of the armies general service option 40 student non-commissioned officers of the armies military health option as well as an ordinary recruitment of 5330 soldiers and 2nd class sailors will take place from March 27, 2023 in the capital of the administrative regions of Cameroon. the press release No. 00377/DV/MINDEF/02412 of January 24, 2023, meanwhile, concerns the recruitment competition for the gendarmerie. In this press release, the Minister Delegate to the Presidency in charge of Defense informs young Cameroonians that the competitions for the recruitment of 300 Gendarmerie non-commissioned officer students general service option, 40 Gendarmerie non-commissioned officer students with a military health option and 3000 police students will take place from March 27, 2023 in the capitals of the 10 administrative regions of Cameroon. The two press releases thus announce the recruitment of 3,340 gendarmes and 6,060 soldiers and other army personnel. Applications can be submitted between January 30 and March 10, 2023.
