At this time, no details have been released regarding the nature of his death. The Lions organization made the announcement in a press release on Thursday.

“Jessie was a model teammate and a wonderful young man who left far too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time,” the Michigan team said.

The Florida native signed a free agent contract with the Chargers in 2020 before joining the Lions in the 2021 season.

In two seasons on the Goodell circuit, the former Liberty University Flames had 15 tackles and 1.5 quarterback sacks.

The Arlington Renegades organization in the XFL selected Lemonier last November during the circuit’s draft session. However, he had decided to line up with the Houston Gamblers in the USFL.
