“An absolute shame”, Manchester United humiliated

Gary Neville branded Manchester United an “absolute disgrace” after their 3-0 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday.

Gary Neville did not shy away from his scathing analysis of United's poor performance against Tottenham on Sunday afternoon. Brennan Johnson's early goal caused early disappointment among the Old Trafford crowd, with Bruno Fernandes being sent off just before the break.

The second half started in a similar vein with Dejan Kulusevski scoring a quick goal two minutes after the restart and Dominic Solanke killing United with a third goal. Neville was on commentary and he made his feelings known as the match went on.

Neville very disappointed

The former United captain even suggested the players should hold a meeting without Ten Hag to “ decide what they want to do. He added to Sky Sports:
“They need to get back on their feet in this locker room. The first half was as bad as you can imagine. It’s a shocking day, a sobering day. It's a very bad day for Ten Hag. »

The former United defender also criticized club captain Bruno Fernandes who was shown a red card for a high tackle on James Maddison. Neville said: “ That sums up Manchester United in the first half. They were an absolute disgrace. This is one of the worst performances I've seen under Ten Hag. And that’s saying something. It's really bad. Today I was shocked to see how low they have fallen. »

It's not just Neville who has lashed out at United and Ten Hag, former Tottenham and Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp has also pointed the finger at the Dutchman for the collapse against Spurs. He told Sky Sports: “
It gets to a point where you almost feel sorry for the manager. He looks completely overwhelmed, he seems to be having trouble motivating his team. Manchester United and Ten Hag are in decline. We can't complain anymore, he has his back four in place, he has all the players at his disposal – there are no excuses. They are at their lowest at the moment. I just don't see where they can go from here. This is the worst United team I have ever seen. It's embarrassing. A club of this stature should not produce such performances. »
