In recent summers, Real Madrid have managed to sign new star players, but no one could accuse them of the crazy spending that characterised Florentino Perez's first terms.
The Merengues have made good use of the free agent market and already have their eyes set on two other targets.
Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies is well-known to the Whites, and they reportedly reached a personal agreement with the Canadian back in March. With contract negotiations with Bayern at an impasse, if nothing changes, he will join the club for free next summer.
Davies is on his way!
It’s a similar story for Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. The England international is out of contract next summer, but there’s no clear news yet on a new deal for the 25-year-old. Sport say the Whites are aiming to strengthen both flanks next summer, with Davies and Alexander-Arnold both set to receive a huge signing bonus if they hold out and arrive on a free. The difference with Alexander-Arnold is that no agreement has been reached with him.
If Los Blancos sign him, it could spell the end for Lucas Vazquez, who is currently on a one-year contract. The British defender can also play in a variety of positions, but he may want guarantees on his playing time. Dani Carvajal shows no signs of slowing down after a season that has him in contention for the Ballon d'Or.
