Spain coach Luis De La Fuente has made no secret of his admiration for his Fabian Ruiz.
The year 2024 marks a rebirth for Fabian Ruiz. Long considered unwanted at Paris Saint-Germain, the Spanish midfielder has found a new lease of life thanks to the confidence of the national team.
Highly regarded by coach Luis De la Fuente, Fabian Ruiz was called up to play in the two Nations League matches against Serbia (0-0) on Thursday, then against Switzerland (1-4) on Sunday. During this last match, the Spaniard distinguished himself by delivering a high-flying performance, punctuated by a double in the colours of La Roja.
“If his name wasn't Fabian, he would certainly make people talk about him”
In a press conference after his men's victory, De La Fuente did not fail to praise his player in a press conference, highlighting his essential role in the team since Euro 2024. “Fabian is the best in the world in his position. For me, it's not a surprise,” he said.
“Fabian is an exceptional player of the highest level who, if his name was not Fabian, would certainly be talked about. But those of us who live with him, those of us who see him work with such fantastic simplicity, and such great footballing potential, know what his value is,” said the 63-year-old coach.
