Bosredon and Quaile sign a new French double

Frenchman Mathieu Bosredon, in gold, and his compatriot Johan Quaile, in silver, concluded a crazy day for French para-cycling by achieving a double in the H3 category time trial on Wednesday in Clichy-sous-Bois.

Mahtieu Bosredon, 33, flew over the 28.3 km of this time trial in the H3 category, reserved for paraplegic athletes without voluntary mobility of the trunk.

Concerning him, he is paralyzed in the lower limbs, with an injury to the abdominal belt since the age of four. The Corrèze native operates his pedals using his upper arms, chest and shoulders.

Seven medals in para-cycling

A few minutes after a first double achieved by the Blues thanks to Kévin Le Cunff and Gatien Le Rousseau in the C4 category, the French repeated the performance since Johan Quaile took second place, 2 minutes behind his compatriot.

The Franche-Comté native had not experienced any international podiums before 2023, and climbed onto the second step of the podium in his first participation in the Paralympic Games, at the age of 32.

The French para-cycling delegation now has seven gold medals and as many silver. With a total of 18 medals, the minimum objective of 20 medals set by the staff of the Blues now seems like a formality.
