Elye Wahi leaves Lens to join Marseille

One year in Lens and then he's gone. French striker Elye Wahi signed with Olympique de Marseille on Tuesday, having left Montpellier last summer to join the Blood and Gold.

L'The 21-year-old international hopeful has reportedly signed for a five-year contract worth €25 million, becoming the ninth recruit of the summer transfer window of the Marseille club.

Mixed season in Lens

Born in Courcouronnes in 2003, Elye Wahi trained in France, at the Suresnes club (Hauts-de-Seine) before taking over the management of SM Caen. His professional career took off at Montpellier, with whom he played in the first team from the age of 17, scoring 19 goals in Ligue 1 during the 2022/2023 season.

French international hopeful (7 caps, 3 goals), Elye Wahi then continued his journey under the colors of RC Lens in 2023, for a sum of 35 million euros, and had a mixed season there.

Author of two goals in the Champions League against Arsenal and PSV Eindhoven, he only scored nine goals in Ligue 1 last season, in 28 matches played.
