Paris 2024 Olympics: Kate Middleton reappears publicly to congratulate British athletes

Dressed casually, Kate Middleton said: “From all of us watching (the olympics) at home, congratulations to Team Great Britain,” before being followed by her husband: “Well done for everything you have achieved. You are our role models,” said the son of King Charles III. This was followed by various messages of congratulations from big names in English sport, such as David Beckham and former swimmer Rebecca Adlington, as well as from foreign personalities such as American rapper Snoop Dogg and Michael Johnson, ambassador for the Los Angeles 2028 Games.

Ranked seventh in the medal table, Great Britain finished the Paris Olympics with 14 gold, 22 silver and 29 bronze medals.

Kate Middleton, who revealed at the end of March that she was undergoing chemotherapy, has drastically reduced her public appearances and royal engagements in recent months. After having assured that she was making “progress” towards her recovery in June, the Princess of Wales nevertheless showed up at Wimbledon, notably presenting the trophy to Carlos Alcaraz on July 14 after the final against Novak Djokovic.
