The attack took place in Leicester Square, a popular tourist spot at this time of year.
Photos posted on social media show a police cordon near a popular toy store on the square.
Police said that Both victims were taken to hospital. The severity of their injuries is not yet known..
“We do not believe there are any suspects at large.”Westminster Police added on its X account.
The attack comes as riotshave been shaking the United Kingdom for a week.
The unrest was fuelled by radical right-wing activists who used social media to spread false information about a knife attack who killed three girls at a Taylor Swift-themed dance party.
