Having left the house since July, she had returned to collect some papers. An altercation ensued, then violence, denied by the defendant, this Thursday, August 8, before the Bourg-en-Bresse criminal court: “I may have slapped her, but it was because she was hitting me with the broom.”

In addition to the repeated violence, the investigation revealed telephone harassment that had been going on since July, 364 calls in three weeks. The defendant, 47 years old, a drug addict, with 30 convictions, was sentenced to one year in prison, a sentence accompanied by a ban on contacting the victim for three years.
