New exercise in international diplomacy for Keir Starmer. The new British Prime Minister received around forty European leaders near Oxford.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Emmanuel Macron.
These are some of the leaders received by Keir Starmer near Oxford, on the occasion of the 4th summit of the European Political Community.
At the centre of the discussions is security in Europe and of course the war in Ukraine.
“We want to work with all of you to restore relations, rediscover our common interests and renew the bonds of trust and friendship, which illuminate the fabric of European life. The task is urgent, because our security is at stake. Every day, Ukraine fights to protect not only the Ukrainian people, but also the people of Europe.“, said Keir Starmer.
This new exercise in international diplomacy allows the British Prime Minister to renew ties with the European Union, as he has been saying for several weeks.
NATO chief Jen Stoltenberg and Volodymyr Zelensky were also present at the meeting. On Monday, the Ukrainian president said he was in favor of Russia participating in an upcoming summit for peace in Ukraine.
