Presented on June 13 at the general meeting of the Association for Aid to Victims and Mediation of Ain (Avema), Toundra has officially been working for several days as a legal assistant at the Bourg-en-Bresse judicial court.
Helps to free speech
Trained for eighteen months by the Handi’Chiens association before being made available to Avema, this Golden Retriever dog was called upon for the very first time by an investigating judge in the context of a case of sexual violence committed against a teenage girl.
The reassuring presence of the animal alongside a young victim in this difficult context helps to control their heart rate as well as their level of stress and anxiety and, in doing so, to free their speech.
