The Spanish football team, European champions, have arrived in Madrid to begin the celebrations.
The Spanish football team arrived in Madrid on Monday to begin celebrations after beating England 2-1 on Sunday in Berlin to secure the 2024 European Football Championship.
After landing in Madrid, captain Alvaro Morata showed off the trophy on the stairs leading to the runway.
The team then arrived at their hotel before meeting the royal family, Prime Minister Sanchez and attending a celebratory parade through the streets of Madrid. Thousands of fans are expected to continue the party, which began on Sunday night, with whistles and horns.
Spain won all seven matches, none of them on penalties, and scored a record 15 goals during the championship.
Even traditionally strong teams like Germany, France and Italy were no match for La Roja, who they all led to victory.
La Roja returned to the European podium, becoming the first team to win a fourth Euro after triumphing in 1964, 2008 and 2012.
