The former candidate of the star Academy was back on television this Saturday, July 13, in the legendary summer show on France 2: Fort BoyardOn this occasion, Mario Barravecchia spoke about the new editions of the program that made him famous.
23 years ago, Mario Barravecchia lost to Jenifer Bartoli in the season 1 finale of La star Academy launched by TF1. Interviewed in the columns of Tele-Leisure on the occasion of his first participation in Fort Boyard, The 47-year-old singer returned to the new promotions of the cult show of the 2000s who made him known.
As a finalist of the first edition, the former candidate has “always been invited to participate in all seasons“, nevertheless he does not think any less. The artist admits to our colleagues: “I found the editions around 2010 less good, in the sense that it was a bit of a rehash.“.
An opinion that has evolved over the last two years with the new generation of academics since the show’s return in 2022. “The break of a few years was good. This allowed the candidates to come back even stronger. The 2023 edition reminds me of mine, both in terms of personalities and talents. There was life in the castle, rigor, and great exchanges as a bonus… This is what made this edition such a success” he tells the magazine.
“Fatigue is not serious. You have to take it“, advises the former candidate
While the 2023 season was won by Pierre Garnier, Some academics denounce the difficult conditions of the tour. Indeed, Djebril thus pointed out the inequalities of treatment of which he was a victim and Axel highlighted the exhausting pace of the tour during an interview for Télé-Loisirs: “When we do weeks with seven shows… We know that this is not how you become a pro. We are ultra-trained in express, we give it our all. For other professionals, we have gained credibility… sometimes to the detriment of physical and mental well-beingbecause it’s too intense a format.”
Mario Barravecchia also experienced the difficulty of the Star Academy tour schedule.I think that in terms of the number of dates, they are not far from that of our promotion, with around 70 dates. It’s a frantic pace. Every day on the road with only one day of rest. There are the rehearsals, the concert, more than two hours of live show, there is the after-concert, the interviews, the broadcasts, studio recordings… It’s very intense.“, acknowledges the former finalist. However, he invites the candidates not to focus on that. “They have to enjoy this pace, because it doesn’t last a lifetime. Fatigue is not a big deal. You just have to take it and it will turn into magical and unforgettable memories.“, concludes the former academic.
