Real Madrid are looking for a new central defender following the departures of Nacho Fernandez and Rafa Marin.
The main target is Leny Yoro, but with Lille having accepted an offer from Manchester United for the 18-year-old, it is far from certain that the Whites will get what they want, so other solutions are being considered.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Lazio’s Mario Gila would be Real Madrid’s top target if Yoro were to join Man United. Lazio own 50% of his rights, meaning a deal would cost half as much as usual.
Gila says no
Unfortunately for Real Madrid, their chances of signing Gila seem extremely slim. Even if Lazio were to accept an offer, the 23-year-old would refuse to return to the Spanish capital, as he told Il Messaggero.
” Absolutely, I will not leave here, even if Real Madrid has the right to buy me and an offer comes. This club believes in me and I believe in Lazio.” .
Gila’s comments make it all the more important that Real Madrid get their hands on Yoro this summer. The Madridistas are not yet too concerned about the situation, although they are counting on the teenager having rejected Man United’s advances.
