New Liverpool manager Arne Slot has spoken out about his star player Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot is delighted with his first days working with Mohamed Salah. He is counting on him for the upcoming campaign. A departure for the Pharaoh to other climes is therefore not on the agenda, contrary to the rumours that have circulated.
Salah and Wataru Endo have joined the Reds for a first pre-season under the team’s new manager, with the Dutchman telling the club’s website: “Mo came back strong, he was really fit. I think he’s always been like that, but it’s the same this year.”
Slot empowers Salah
“What is expected of them, as I said, is that they set an example for the youngsters,” continued the Dutchman. “For them it is very important – just like for the other players in the first team – that they stay fit. They are full of energy and that is the most important thing at the moment: to keep them fit, build from there and try to teach them as much as possible.”
Slot also said: “I’m having a lot of fun. The pitches are great. The boys are full of energy. Pep (Lijnders) and Jürgen (Klopp) already told me last season that I would enjoy working with them – and they didn’t lie at all. They are full of energy.”
