Context
It’s a celebration day in Paris!
- Twelve days before the opening ceremony, the Olympic flame arrives in the capital on Sunday, July 14.
- Thierry Henry will be the first torchbearer on the Champs-Élysées at 1 p.m. The torch will then pass into the hands of many other celebrities and anonymous bearers.
- The celebration site is located on the Town Hall Square and will be open from 5 p.m. to midnight, with the lighting of the cauldron scheduled for 11:15 p.m.
- For those who are not in Paris this Sunday, don’t panic: the Olympic flame will still be there this Monday, before returning to the capital on July 26.
