Protesters marched in Paris in memory of Ukrainian athletes killed during the Russian invasion, ahead of the opening of the Olympic Games in the French capital.

Gathered at the call of the Union of Ukrainians of France, the demonstrators wore T-shirts with the names of the 450 athletes who lost their lives in the war.

Some also protested against the participation of Russians and Belarusians in the Olympics.

Some athletes from both countries were allowed by the IOC to participate, but under a neutral banner.
