June 30th marked the end of an era at Liverpool. After nine seasons on the banks of the Mersey, Jürgen Klopp made his departure from the club official. The German coach, worn out by the pressure and demands of the highest level, had cited exhaustion as the reason for his decision.
Faced with this unexpected departure, the LFC management quickly mobilized to find a successor. It was finally Arne Slot, the Dutch technician, who caused a sensation with Feyenoord in recent years, who was chosen to take the reins of the team.
But while Klopp has left his role as Reds coach, he is not moving away from the north-west England outfit. Indeed, the Anfield residents announced this Friday morning that the former manager will become an honorary ambassador for the LFC Foundation, the club’s charity. The news was made official on Liverpool’s website and social media.
“The LFC Foundation does incredible work in the community, both in the Liverpool City Region and beyond. I am very proud to continue my work with them and to be appointed as the first Honorary Ambassador for the LFC Foundation. I look forward to seeing what we can do now that I have more free time.”we can read in the press release.
