Joe Biden blunders again. The American president announced “President Putin” on Thursday when welcoming his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, before making up for it at a NATO summit in Washington.
“I want to give the floor to the president of Ukraine, who has both courage and determination. Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin,” he introduced on Thursday evening, before catching himself, saying he was “so focused on beating Putin.” “I am better (than Putin),” the Ukrainian head of state then joked when it was time to take the floor.
A press conference on Thursday
Doubts about Joe Biden’s ability to govern have grown since his failed debate with Republican rival Donald Trump. More than half of American Democrats believe the 81-year-old Democrat should withdraw from the race for the White House, according to a new poll released Thursday.
But the American president is for now resisting calls to withdraw from his party, as well as from celebrities and big money in the entertainment world. He faces a tough test of his presidential candidacy on Thursday when he gives a press conference, an exercise he is not particularly fond of.
