Thierry Henry’s Blues were not gentle on Thursday evening against the Dominican Republic, crushed 7-0 in Toulon. The French Olympic team had already won last Thursday in Bayonne against Paraguay (4-1). A third and final preparatory match awaits them next Wednesday against Japan, again in Toulon.
Stuttgart midfielder Enzo Millot opened the scoring by heading in a cross from Joris Chotard with his left foot at the far post (19e), then captain Alexandre Lacazette doubled the score, from close range, receiving a cross in front of the goal from Rennes full-back Adrien Truffert (28e).
Olise and Lacazette see double
The Dominicans, who also qualified for the Paris Olympics, thought they had reduced the score through Nowend Lorenzo in the 41st minute.e minute, but the goal was ruled out by VAR for offside.
On the contrary, in the second half it was the Blues who scored the goals, first again through Lacazette, with a left-footed shot deflected by a defender (48e), then by a double from Michael Olise.
Bayern Munich’s new signing from Crystal Palace first calmly pushed the ball into the back of the net after a perfect pass from Arnaud Kalimuendo (51e), then treated the spectators at the Mayol stadium to a splendid strike without control from outside the area, following a poor clearance from the opposing defense (56e).
” VSIt won’t always be like this”
In this one-way meeting and therefore with very relative lessons, Maghnes Akliouche (80e) and Ryan Cherki (90e) have made the bill more expensive.
“It won’t always be like this,” reacted Thierry Henry at the microphone of The TV Team. We can see that we are physically fine. Seeing the guys on their feet, no injuries… But I repeat, we have to calm down, it won’t always be like this.”
At the Games (July 26-August 11) the Blues will be in Group A with the United States, Guinea and New Zealand.
