An estimated 14,000 additional prostitutes have come to work in the German cities hosting Euro 2024.

The tournament will have been a boon to many businesses – such as hotels and restaurants – in the ten German host cities, and the sex industry was no exception.
We think that More than 100,000 prostitutes worked in the country during the competition.
The erotic service Erobella estimated that Nearly 14,000 sex workers came to Germany especially for the football tournament.
Gerhard Schönborn, a social worker based in Frankfurt, said most prostitutes came “from Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland”.
“They are sold here simply because of poverty”he adds.
Janne Valentin, a sex worker who has been working in the profession for 26 years, explains that:It is easy to find customers in the center of Berlin.
“Guests staying in hotels buy escort services when they want company for dinner. Or they call and order a girl for their room.”she specifies.
Prostitution has been legal in Germany since 2002, as has running a brothel. which, under new laws recently adopted, must be officially registered.
However, testing for HIV and sexually transmitted infections is not mandatory for carrying out this type of activity in Germany.
