PSG women’s transfer window: Sandy Baltimore officially joins Chelsea

It’s a very active start to the transfer window that PSG women are experiencing in terms of departures. After losing Tabitha Chawinga, Fabrice Abriel, the future Parisian coach, will now have to do without Sandy Baltimore. The French international striker, trained at Paris Saint-Germain where she revealed herself, has signed a four-year contract with Chelsea, as announced by Le Parisien on June 20.

The transfer was made official on Saturday morning by the five-time reigning English champion, now coached by Sonia Bompastor. Currently in full preparation for the Olympics with Hervé Renard, the 24-year-old left-hander, French champion in 2021, is leaving the capital club after eight years and more than 200 matches played, for a first experience abroad.

Champions League goal

“Sandy has gained a lot of experience in France, especially in the Champions League, and she will bring more competition to the team,” commented the manager of the women’s section, Paul Green. In London, Baltimore finds her teammate in the national team Ève Périsset, her former partner at PSG Ashley Lawrence, in addition to Bompastor, ex-coach of OL who knows her well.

The 28-time international joins a Chelsea team that has dominated the Women’s Super League (WSL) but has never won the Champions League. The “Blues” attack includes Australian Sam Kerr, who recently extended her contract, American Catarina Macario, Englishwoman Lauren James and Colombian Mayra Ramirez.
