Lyon. Disgusted by thefts, these shopkeepers display on their windows the people who “forgot” to pay

“Oops!!! These people forgot to pay: please go to the checkout to regularize the situation. There is no age for ‘forgetting to pay’.”

Three sheets of paper adorn the window at the entrance to the Brooklyn Fizz store, at 17 rue Childebert. They show CCTV footage of men, around 60 years old, who left the store with products they did not pay for.

“We were afraid it would become a game”

“And yet,” explains Manuel, co-manager of the store, “we removed three or four. It was too many and we were afraid that it would become a game to appear on our storefront.”
