OL recorded this Friday, shortly before the resumption of the professional group, for the preparation of the new season, the arrival of the Brazilian left-back defender, Vinicius Abner (1.81 m) from Betis Seville.
The transfer transaction amounts to 8 million euros, with a 20% interest in the event of a possible resale.
Committed until 2029
Abner, whose arrival had been expected since last March, has signed for the next five seasons, until June 30, 2029. He is 24 years old and is a native of Presidente Prudente (State of Sao Paulo).
He began his career at Ponte Preta, like the former midfielder Camilo, who arrived at OL in January 2020 and left in 2023 without ever having played with the professional team.
Olympic champion in Tokyo in 2021
Abner was part of Brazil’s Olympic champion team in Tokyo in 2021, while wearing the colors of Athletico Paranaense. It was in January 2023 that this promising defender arrived in Europe, at Betis Sevilla, but his journey there has been rather mixed.
At OL, he will succeed his compatriot Henrique, who left on a free transfer on June 30th, at the end of his contract. He becomes the 27th Brazilian player in the club’s history.
