Football tournaments: where will the teams train?

Several cities in the Rhône have also applied to host the training sessions of visiting teams before their match at Groupama Stadium. The Parc OL will in fact be the venue for 11 matches of the men’s and women’s football tournaments of the 2024 Olympic Games.

In addition to the Décines stadium itself, three other sites were selected: the Courtois-Fillot sports park in Limonest, where the English and American women had already taken up residence during the 2019 Women’s World Cup, but also the Merlo stadium in Oullins and the Romain-Tisserand complex in Chassieu.

In Saint-Étienne, where six matches of the football tournaments will take place (at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium), the players’ training sessions will take place from July 15 to 31 at the Salif-Keita stadium in l’Etivallière, at the Auguste-Dury stadium in Côte-Chaude and at the Michon sports complex.

However, the sites will be completely closed and training will not be accessible to the public.
