The events took place in Meudon, in Hauts-de-Seine, around 8 p.m. According to information from Le Parisien, confirmed to AFP by Prisca Thévenot’s entourage, a group of Renaissance activists, accompanied by the government spokesperson, were attacked by four individuals while they were putting up posters.
A fight reportedly broke out between the protagonists. The four individuals, who had fled, were arrested. Prisca Thévenot filed a complaint at the Meudon police station.
The government spokesperson came out on top in the first round in the 8th constituency of Hauts-de-Seine, which covers Meudon, Marnes-la-Coquette and Sèvres, with 39.9%. In the second round, she will face the candidate of the New Popular Front, Salomé Nicolas-Chavance, who obtained 30.3% of the vote.
