Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes is being targeted by Barca this summer.
After the failure of negotiations with Guido Rodriguez, FC Barcelona having decided to take another direction, the Blaugrana were offered a second Argentine international.
Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes looks set to leave Roma for a cut-price deal this summer.
Former Parisian Paredes targeted by Barça
The 30-year-old has one year left on his contract with Roma, but he is not necessarily part of Daniele de Rossi’s plans, and Sport claim that Barcelona have received an invitation to make an offer for the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder. While they believe Paredes is a good player with excellent technical ability, the Spanish bosses are still focusing on other options, such as Amadou Onana and Mikel Merino.
Paredes is technically gifted, but like Adrien Rabiot, who has also been offered to Barcelona in recent days, he would bring the Blaugrana another profile that does not contrast with what they already have in midfield. Sporting director Deco has clearly shown his preference for a more physical option in midfield, and although Paredes is cheap and experienced, he is not likely to raise the level of the team.
