The Russian army, which continues its advance in Ukraine, has increased its attacks this weekend. Moscow has also claimed responsibility for the capture of new villages.

Attacks on Kyiv are not as frequent as on other major urban centres and are relatively rare, following a series of assaults in March.
The Kyiv city military administration confirmed that a missile hit a multi-story residential building in the capital on Sunday. The city’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, later said that a fire broke out on the eighth and ninth floors.
The strike did not cause any casualties, but five injured people were treated on the spot and an elderly woman was taken to hospital.
Kharkiv, meanwhile, is regularly bombed and Sunday’s attack killed a delivery man and started a fire.
“It is possible that there were nine or more people at the site, given the extent of the destruction, and we will check.“, said the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration Oleh Syniehubov.
“It was a guided aerial bomb, the type of which we will determine. It is either a guided munition or a FAB, like the ones they have already used in Kharkiv,” he continued.
Meanwhile, in the east of the country, drone footage released by the Ukrainian military on Sunday showed what appeared to be corpses in a civilian area of the city of Toretsk.
The city in the Donetsk region has been under heavy Russian bombardment in recent days, prompting Ukrainian rescue services to step up evacuation efforts.
Rescuers from the White Angels police unit helped elderly people out of their homes, carrying one woman on a stretcher.
“Yesterday there was a powerful bombardment with gliding bombs. Drones, mortars and anti-aircraft guns are working constantly. This is a very dangerous and stressful situation.” said Vitalii Bukariev, an officer of the White Angels.
Ukrainian authorities also said on Sunday that a Russian missile strike on a town in the Zaporizhzhia region in eastern Ukraine killed seven people, including three children.
More than 30 people were also injured in the Vilnyansk attack, which caused a massive fire and extensive damage to residential buildings and critical infrastructure.
In a message posted on X, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia had used 800 guided aerial bombs on targets in Ukraine in the past week alone.
“Ukraine needs the means to destroy the carriers of these bombs, including Russian warplanes, wherever they are.“, did he declare.
