He was re-elected in the first round in his 4the constituency of Bouches-du-Rhône and intends to lend a helping hand to its allies in the New Popular Front.
The president of La France Insoumise, Manuel Bompard, is traveling to the Rhône this Wednesday, July 3, to meet with the LFI candidates in the second round.
With Abdelkader Lahmar, at the head of a three-way race
The MP will first be in Vaulx-en-Velin, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Place Guy Moquet, at Mas du Taureau, alongside Abdelkader Lahmar, LFI candidate invested by the NFP in the 7the Rhone constituency.
Abdelkader Lahmar came out on top in the first round with 46% of the vote ahead of Alexandre Vincendet 27.05% (Horizons) and Cédric Pignal 21.28% (RN) and therefore takes his place in a three-way race for this second round.
Next to Gabriel Amard, caught in a duel on the left
Manuel Bompard will then make a stop at Les Buers, in Villeurbanne, where he will join the outgoing deputy of the 6the constituency Gabriel Amard, who came out on top by a wide margin (46.29%) and who will face the PS dissident Jean-Paul Bret (19.94%), who refused to withdraw in the second round.
“If we look at his political past, Jean-Paul Bret knew how to remind other left-wing candidates to withdraw. It’s tradition. And since he always wanted to be part of the tradition on the left… His position is surprising,” reacted Gabriel Amard.
