Kingsley Coman is leaving the Blues’ squad on time. The Bayern Munich striker left for Sweden on Monday evening after the Euro 2024 round of 16 match between France and Belgium (1-0) to attend the birth of his fourth child.
His partner being Swedish, it was planned from the start that Coman would go and join her during the tournament to experience this happy event. The former Parisian, who did not return against the Belgians and only played 16 minutes against the Netherlands in this Euro, had already been absent for the same reason during Euro 2021.
“Following France-Belgium, Kingsley Coman left the squad to join his partner in Sweden. We will let you know the date of his return when it is set,” the FFF said in a statement. The Bayern winger could return to the squad before Friday’s quarter-final against Portugal in Hamburg.
