RN in the lead in the first round of legislative elections
The National Rally and its allies came out on top in the first round of the legislative elections with 33.4% of the vote, according to the final results. The NFP came second with 27.98% of the vote, ahead of Ensemble (Emmanuel Macron’s candidates) and its allies, who came out with a score of 20.76%. They were followed by Les Républicains (6.56% of the vote) and the various right-wing parties (3.67%).
With the first results of the vote, the National Rally and its allies could inherit 230 to 280 seats, while the New Popular Front could claim a number of seats between 125 and 165 seats.
Record participation
Turnout is up sharply since 66.71% of voters voted according to the final results, compared to 47.5% in 2022 according to the Ministry of the Interior.
More than 49.5 million voters were called to the polls to elect no less than 577 deputies, whether they reside in mainland France, overseas or abroad.
