For delicious and crispy onion rings, the recipe from food content creator Chloé Vandekamp (@chloevandekamp on Instagram) is a good one. The donut dough is prepared with beer to obtain a nice, crispy breading. In the mouth, it is a real treat. Discover the delight without further delay.
Ingredients :
- 1 large onion
- 150 g of flour
- 1 teaspoon of cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of Espelette pepper
- 1 egg
- 25 cl of beer
Preparation :
- Peel and cut the onion into thick rings. Separate all the rings and set aside.
- In a salad bowl prepare the batter. First mix the dry ingredients: flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, paprika, garlic powder and Espelette pepper. Break the egg and pour in the beer gradually while mixing.
- Coat the onion rings of flour, then heat an oil bath to 180°C at the same time.
- Pass the onion rings in the dough and directly in the oil.
- Let it cook until golden brown and turn the onion rings halfway through cooking.
- When the onion rings are cooked, drain them, then place them on absorbent paper.

She suggests that youaccompany the onion rings with a sauce made from “cottage cheese, salt, pepper, Espelette pepper and chives”. If you are not a fan of fromage blanc, she recommends replacing it with thick crème fraîche.
