Loire. Searches to find a missing sixty-year-old in Machézal

Since Saturday evening, the police have been searching for a 69-year-old man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease who disappeared in the Machézal area.

The sixty-year-old left at 6 p.m. in the company of his dog, a Border Collie, and has not appeared since.

The search resumed this Sunday morning around Machézal and in a wider area, with around fifteen gendarmes mobilized, including a dog handler.

A dog team

A dog team from the Sdis 42 firefighters was also called in. A helicopter from the Lyon gendarmerie also flew over the area at midday.

The searches continued but without result for the moment: the sixty-year-old remains untraceable.

The gendarmerie is calling on all people likely to have seen him or to provide information on his disappearance to contact the Saint-Symphorien-de-Lay gendarmerie company at 04.77.64.70.14 or dial 17.
