Sunday June 30, 2024, Brigitte Macron, like millions of French people, voted in the first round of the legislative elections. The first lady made a blunder during her vote, as spotted by BFMTV.
Sunday June 30, 2024, the polling stations opened as part of the first round of legislative elections. Millions of French people gathered at the polls to elect their representatives after the dissolution of the National Assembly orchestrated by Emmanuel Macron a few weeks ago. As many, the presidential couple therefore went to their polling station nearest to express their choice. Living since 2001 in Le Touquet, where he has a house, the couple therefore went to this town as usual.
Emmanuel Macron and Brigitte Macron came to vote together. The President of the Republic was dressed in a dark blue suit, while the first lady wore an ensemble in beige tones. Very elegant outfits which demonstrate the importance of this gesture which contributes to French democracy.
A blunder before being called to order
But while Brigitte Macron has been used to voting for many years, she made a slight blunder when putting her choice in the ballot box. The first lady took several ballots to choose fromas is recommended. She entered the voting booth to insert her choice into the envelope and then left at the same time as her husband, under the watchful eye of the cameras present for the occasion.
Emmanuel Macron presented himself first to the assessors, voted and signed the register. When passing, Brigitte Macron wanted to sign the register before slipping her vote into the ballot box. A slight distraction which led to her being kindly called to order by the keeper of the urn. She then hastened to insert her vote before signing the register to stipulate that she has indeed fulfilled her role as a French citizen on this Sunday, June 30, 2024.
